What to eat when you can't eat anything! - The Preparation

Before I began my new eating plan (I'm trying not to call it a diet, as it's not about losing weight) I needed to come up with a good plan (and one last chance to eat some foods that were really bad for me!) .

I really enjoy cooking anyway and am always on the lookout for new recipes so at least I had a plethora of blogs that I could check out for approved recipes.

The first thing I did was to go through the recipes I've saved on my laptop and move all that I could still eat or modify easily to make them intolerance-friendly into a new folder for easy access.

The second thing I did was go through some of the cookbooks I've acquired over the years including:

La Dolce Vegan (http://www.amazon.co.uk/La-Dolce-Vegan-Livin-Made/dp/1551521873/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398174410&sr=8-1&keywords=la+dolce+vegan)

Cooking Without (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cooking-Without-Barbara-Cousins/dp/0722540221/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1398174479&sr=1-1&keywords=cooking+without)

The Cafe Fresh Cookbook http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cafe-Fresh-Cookbook-Mary-Farrell/dp/0717141071

and stick a post-it note on all the recipes that I could still include on my new eating plan. This helped to show me that there were still a TON of tasty things I can enjoy, and it will give me an opportunity to try a lot of new recipes.

I then had the sad job of removing all the 'bad' foods from my flat that I can no longer eat. My family and boyfriend inherited a LOT of food from me that I couldn't consume before my new regime began.

And finally, I indulged in some of my favourite foods for one final weekend. These included curry cheese chips, malai kofta and saag paneer from my local indian restaurant, crisps (most flavours of crisps include something that I am intolerant to) Cadbury's chocolate, lots of cheese, my favourite Spinach and Ricotta lasagne, and plenty of wine!
